Nashville goes green in March!

For the first 17 days of March, Nashville and Ireland will come together to celebrate the holiday that makes the whole world want to be Irish for a day.  Music City, USA will embrace its heritage and explore its cultural and musical roots bringing two iconic genres together for more than 2 weeks of authentic Irish events for the whole family.

Music City Irish Fest is growing and is likely to become the #1 destination for celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the world (other than the Emerald Isle itself).  Events celebrating authentic aspects of Irish culture will be available all over Nashville.  For the sports fans, the Nashville Gaelic Athletic Club will be hosting their annual hurling tournament - a traditional Irish sport played in every county in Ireland and is the fastest game played on a field.  For those who love theater, The Final Days of Wolfe Tone, a heart-wrenching original play deeply exploring the character Theobald Wolfe Tone who gave his life in the attempt to free Ireland, will play at TPAC.  For history buffs, The Hermitage will celebrate the 250th birthday and Irish genealogy of President Andrew Jackson and his family connections to Ireland.  Come trace your own heritage to see if there is green blood flowing in your veins.  Of course, one cannot have an Irish celebration in Nashville without music.  Altan and The Chieftains, two of the most iconic bands in the history of Irish music will be thrilling audiences with their foot-stomping jigs and reels.  McNamara's Irish Pub is the heart of Nashville's Irish food and drink and is the place to be on St. Patrick's Day!  This March, Music City has something Irish for everyone     Go Green.  Go Nashville.  Go Ireland.
