Music City Irish Fest: Board of Directors
Brenda Willis has lived in Nashville for 18 years and is the mother of 12 children. For the last 15 years she has managed her family band that began its career in an Irish pub on Music Row and has taken them on a journey that has included the Grand Ole Opry, America’s Got Talent, a reality TV show, winning the Fleadh Cheoil, multiple Oireachtas champions, playing on stage with Irish and American superstars, four albums and playing the top Irish festivals across the United States and venues in Ireland. Producing Music City Irish Fest fulfills her passion for Irish culture and the tradition for passing it on from one generation of greats to another. Capitalizing on the Scots-Irish roots of Middle Tennessee, MCIF offers Irish and Nashville artists the unique opportunity to collaborate and create magic on stage that comes from the two strongest music cultures on the planet.
The vision for this festival is to not only create a world class event that will draw an audience from the southeast United States, but to educate the people of Nashville regarding the Irish and Scots-Irish basis for the bluegrass and country music they know and love. Nashville and Ireland have the two strongest music traditions in the world. It is only fitting that they join together to celebrate the best in music.
